Ideal horse country Valley Center continually attracts many equestrian enthusiasts for various activities and riding areas. 4-H clubs are popular, and residents also enjoy swimming, tennis, soccer, youth sports leagues, golfing at one of the five golf courses nearby, as well as trout and bass fishing at one of the local reservoirs.

The award-winning local schools of the Valley Center region are highly attractive to many families. Served by the Valley Center-Pauma Unified School District, families with children from grades kindergarten through 12 will find unparalleled curriculum, teachers, and community support in the schools. In 1998, Valley Center High School (the newest addition to the District) was opened. In keeping with today's technological standards, each class is equipped with at least one computer, enabling students to connect to the school library and download research material. The curriculum structure also ties math, sciences and technology together - providing cutting edge skills to its students.

The Valley has a very find Historty Museum, located adjacent to our new Library.  You willfind the many wonderful displays on events, happenings, famous people who resided here or  visited.  It is truly a wonder experience learning the wonderful, and sometimes not so wonderful, things that happened in an around Valley Center.  They are always looking for volunteers as the Museum is a very busy place.

In Valley Center you will also find ample housing opportunities. As the preferred residential unit numerous single family homes are available in different sizes and styles. Hillsides or hilltop houses (which afford magnificent views), as well as land on which to build your dream home, are all available. Homes with orchards as front yards are not uncommon, and horse properties are very popular as well.

Located near Pauma Valley ( a small community at the base of the Cleveland National Forest and Mount Palomar), residents have ample access to an invigorating alpine environment offering views of the Pacific and downtown San Diego, lovely camping sites and hiking trails, and Palomar Observatory with its world-famous telescope.


Valley Center Recreation


Valley Center is also home to the Bates Nut Farm and Bell Gardens, agricultural farms which exemplify the history and an important industry of the region . The Bates Nut Farm is famous for its nuts, candies, dried fruits, as well as pumpkins and Christmas trees. A great place for an afternoon outing, the Farm also offers a tree filled park for picnicking, a children's zoo, a boutique, and a country store. Bell  Gardens is a produce farm owned by Glenn W. Bell, Jr. (former owner of Taco Bell). Here residents and visitors discover over 115 acres of cultivated fields, creek beds, walking trails, and lawns for picnics and play, as well as fresh produce for sale, seasonal events, and farm-related classes and workshops.
